Use the form above to enter your search criteria. Click the "Search" icon to execute your query. Note that including a text search will significantly add to the search time. Search Form Select whether you wish to search the entire catalog of Type 1 Tournament-legal Magic The Gathering cards (currently 9040 cards!), or just search from cards that you have identified as being part of your (real) library (you must be logged in for this), or search from cards within a particular deck that you have created on this site (you must be logged in for this). Card Attributes Here you can specify attributes about the card(s) you will see returned in the search results. Card Colour Check one or more of the "mana colour" checkboxes to limit your query to cards of that colour. All colours are "ANDed" together, which means that if you check Red and Blue, you will only see cards that have both Red and Blue mana as part of their casting cost. Exclusive Turn Exclusive on to exclude unchecked colours from the search results. This avoids having multicolour cards with other colours in the casting cost show up in the search results. For example, if you select Green and White with Exclusive turned OFF, you might see Karona, False God (which has one of each colour in the casting cost) in the search results, whereas with Exclusive turned ON only cards that have ONLY Green and White in the casting cost will be displayed. Colourless Mana Select this to display cards that have 1 or more colourless mana in their casting cost. Not really sure how useful this is, but hey - it's in the data so might as well expose the field, right? X Costs Select this to show only cards that have X in their casting cost. Note that this includes {X} and {X}{X} cards. Card Type Use this to select only cards of a specific type. The "Enchant..." type will select all cards that have "Enchant" in the card type text. This includes "Enchantment" as well as things like "Enchant Creature", "Enchant Artifact", "Enchant World" etc. The "Artifact..." option selects both Artifacts and Artifact Creatures. Creature Type Use this to select a certain creature type. Select "Like" or "Exact" from the menu to the right of the textbox to determine whether the creature type text must match the search term exactly. For example, if you type "Dragon" in the creature type, with "Like" you will get Dragons, Dragon Spirits, Nightmare Dragons, Dragon Legends, Elder Dragon Legends, even Dragonflies! With "Exact" you will get only Dragons. Note that if you specify a Creature Type you don't need to select "Creature" from the Card Type pull-down list. If you select a card type other than "Creature" and specify a Creature Type, you will get NO search results. Best to use one or the other, and not both. Card Name Use this field to do a search on the card name. "Like" is a loose search (e.g. "Rats" turns up "Aysen Bureaucrats" as well as "Bog Rats" and "Rats' Feast"!) while "Exact" matches exactly (in the previous example, an Exact search of "Rats" would turn up no results, because there is no card that is called just plain "Rats". Use "Creature Type" instead.) Casting Cost Attributes The top row is the minimum cost, the bottom row is the maximum cost. You may leave either one blank or fill them both out, for one or more colours. "Converted" is by far the most useful, and is very helpful in limiting the search results (to speed things up). To find all the casting cost black creatures, choose "Creature" from the Card Type pull-down, check the Black card colour checkbox and then type "1" in the Converted MAX field. Note that typing "1" in the Black MAX field instead would show you all the creatures with 1 Black mana in their casting cost. That would be most black creatures! However, entering "2" in the Black MIN field would show you all Black cards that cost or more to cast. Card Search Text Select one or more keywords from the list, or type up to three different text strings in the textboxes supplied. Checking or unchecking the Case Sensitive Search checkbox makes a difference! For example, doing a search on "Mountainwalk" with Case Sensitive ON will reveal all cards with the Mountainwalk ability. With Case Sensitive OFF, it will also reveal creatures and spells (like Dwarven Pony) that don't have mountainwalk themselves, but that grant that ability to other creatures.
